Integrating Pootle into the FreeBSD translation process, move away from traditional XML-based translations

linux-f10-* ports removal

ReneLadan

Remove Linux Fedora 10 ports which reached their end-of-life 6 years ago while keeping support for multiple Linux infrastructures

.onion pkg upgrade

ReneLadan

Provide packages/updates via a Tor hidden service, see this post for why.

(abandoned, lack of interest)

Monitoring Ports

LarsEngels

The ports tree has a Nagios, Icinga, {nagios,monitoring}-plugins and a couple of related ports which play badly together. Work on a solution to make them more modular.

rc and service(8) enhancements

LarsEngels

Phabricator has some patches for rc and service(8). Integrate them into base.

Maps

Map of Linuxhotel and surrounding area.

Linuxhotel

Linuxhotel Villa Vogelsang is a hotel inside of a historical mansion. It is regarded as "one of the most unusual hotels in the Ruhr area". The nine guest rooms and suites as well as two meeting and seminar rooms are equipped with extensive technical facilities to conduct meetings and seminars on the topics of Linux and free software. The hotel and seminar rooms and the surrounding park are networked via Ethernet and wireless LAN.

During work days the Linuxhotel offers Linux and free software courses (e.g. FreeBSD, OpenBSD, pf, etc.).

Logistics

The Linuxhotel is located in the city of Essen. The next airports are Düsseldorf (DUS), Köln/Bonn (CGN) and Dortmund (DTM). From there you can reach Essen by train. Use this page (Google translate) to check how to get there.

Accommodation

The Linuxhotel offers a maximum of 27 beds for accommodation. There are some single rooms but there are also double rooms for share.

Weekend activities

Non-exhaustive list of some non-FreeBSD activities (for families):

Network access

Wireless all around the hotel and park, wired Ethernet in all hotel rooms, seminar rooms and even in the park. ;-)

Power

Germany uses CEE 7 standards and Europlug: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets#CEE_7_standards_and_Europlug

Munch, Munch

Breakfast

Available at the hotel from 09:00 to 10:00.

Lunches

On Saturday we can order a pizza and go to some nice restaurant for dinner.

Dinner places

Depending on the arrival time of the participants we will announce a dinner place for Friday evening.

If the weather is nice we plan to have a BBQ in the hotel's surrounding park on Saturday evening. In case of bad weather there's a restaurant which offers home cooking (i.e., solid, plain, but tasty meals like Schnitzel, etc.): http://www.hausgrossjung.de/

Most people seem to leave on Sunday, so it is possible to have a simple bread and butter dinner at the hotel.

Riding from paris

Developers are welcome to invite guests to attend the developer summit, subject to their tolerance for ceaseless hours of kernel-hacking and availability of space at the venue.
