FreeBSD Developer Summit, September, 2025

This page describes the September 2025 FreeBSD Developer Summit, colocated with EuroBSDCon 2025, which takes place in Zagreb, Croatia from September 24 to 25, 2025. This is a by-invitation event.

Registration

Registration is a two step process:

1) you must register for the Devsummit at the EuroBSDcon page and pay the devsummit fee to attend.

2) FreeBSD committers add themselves to this wiki page below. 👇🏻

Guests

Non-committers that want to attend he Devsummit must be sponsored by a committer. Guests need to also register and pay using the EuroBSDcon registration system by adding the Devsummit (see above). Afterwards, their sponsoring committer also adds them to this wiki page.

/!\ Note: Paying for the devsummit only allows entry to the devsummit. Other activities and the main conference must be paid separately and are not included in the devsummit fee.

Travel

See the EuroBSDcon Travel website for an overview. Trip planning pages like https://rome2rio.com/ (no endorsement or affiliation) may also help finding your way to the event.

Zagreb has a couple hotels available at various price ranges located around the venue within walking distance.

Event: EuroBSDcon Devsummit 2025

Schedule

{i} This year, we will have an extra day, either before or after the two days of the devsummit. This page covers only the devsummit part. Details about what, where, and when will be announced as soon as we know about them. Plan your travels accordingly to arrive earlier in the week of EuroBSDcon to be able to attend all these events.

The FreeBSD developer summit takes place as part of the EuroBSDCon event. Many developers will arrive on the night before and meet for dinner and drinks before things kick off. Most developers will stay on through EuroBSDCon to give and attend talks or tutorials. It is an excellent conference--a good FreeBSD developer showing has countless benefits, not least the opportunity to tell the world what we're doing.

Detailed Schedule will be updated as the event approaches. Check back for details.

Long conversations

Various attendees

Long conversations is a new format for a conference. Two people begin a conversation on stage. After 10 minutes one of the two is replaced by a new person and the conversation continues, and every 10 minutes the other person is swapped out. (Each speaker converses for 20 minutes.) No moderation, just timekeeping. Talk about what you like.
