Acer Aspire V3-771G

Hardware Overview

Notes

Quirks

Sound

There is something strange going on with the audio of this laptop. When rebooting the device from another operating system, then booting into FreeBSD the hardware doesn't appear to properly reset and audio might not work using headphones. This is 100% reproducible. Also reboots on Windows or Linux occasionally result in background noises. On those systems attached headphones and microphone occasionally are not recognized at boot. Though this might be a driver problem issues existing across operating systems and reboots this more likely appears to be a hardware issue. If you run into these issues shutdown your laptop (ie. halt -p, because just reboot WILL NOT fix the issue) and turn it on again after a few seconds.
