Package Building on arm
Package building has begun on the arm architecture. Here are some notes.
- All package building is done on physical targets at this time.
We only have one physical target, so MarkLinimon has chosen a very restricted set of packages to build to start with. Please let him know if there is a particular package you want built.
By agreement among portmgr, only pkgng will be supported on new architectures that we bring up. Although this is a policy decision, there is not enough hardware to support two parallel build instances in any case. Here is how to set up pkgng. Once that is done, you should be able to use '''pkg add'''. (You should not have to set the URL or anything other than USE_PKGNG="YES" in /etc/make.conf).
Currently, only arm-9 packages are being built.
note for portmgrs: since we are only using partial builds, and the subset changes, the -delete flag to rsync is counter-productive here. But right now, arm package uploads are very special so talk to MarkLinimon.
INDEX denotes the subset of packages that was attempted, minus the duds which were marked BROKEN before the run started.
