NOTE

In addition to this primer you should read https://people.freebsd.org/~peter/svn_notes.txt which documents some of the gorier and more obscure details.
You should also download https://people.freebsd.org/~peter/auto-props.txt and follow the instructions for adding the contents of that file to your ~/.subversion/config.
