MediaTek mt76

The Mediatek mt76 driver supports a variety of chipsets. We will try support one after the other to get all permissively licensed ones working eventually. Mediatek SoC support is a different topic and out of scope for the WiFi bits here.
Further information can be found at FreeBSD Foundation Laptop Project, Support the MediaTek Wireless cards and on the meta-bug for mt76, Depends on list. Please check there first before reporting issues.
Due to Linux page pools LinuxKPI needs a significant change eliminating an about 15 year old shortcut aliasing the native struct vm_page to Linux struct page. The same change will also help drm-kmod in other places, which in the past worked around the problem.
As of July 2026 there is a call for testing for mt7921 out Call for testing thread. The next chipsets will be mt7925, which on top needs LinuxKPI IDR updates (IDR is also used by semi-native drivers making this more complicated). After that mt7915 should happen, which on top likely needs changes for software scanning also needed for /WiFi/Rtw88 .
