The FreeBSD Project is pleased to participate in the Google Summer of Code 2014 program.

FreeBSD maintains a page containing project ideas suitable for Summer of Code at Summer of Code Ideas, and a more generic Ideas page. Students are welcome to take on projects from that page, or produce their own project ideas and plans.

Timeline:

• March 10: Student application period open
• March 21 19:00 UTC: Student application deadline
• April 21: Successful applications announced

• April 21: Community bonding starts

• May 19: Start of coding
• June 23-June 27: Mid-term Evaluations
• August 11: End of coding (soft)
• August 18 19:00 UTC: End of coding (hard)
• August 18-August 22: Final Evaluations
